Born September 12, 1985 as John McLaughlin to Irish and Italian parents in Miami, FL, I attended a bunch of schools all over South Florida from Calusa Elementary, Arvida Middle, Coral Reef Senior High, to Westminister Academy in Fort Lauderdale, and finally graduated from The Florida State University with a Major in Political Science and Minor in Business in 2010. I'm a huge sports guru, grew up playing every major sport, eventually sticking to just Baseball in High School, and dabbled in the Collegiate realm at both FSU and TCC in my early college years. I like all types of music, except country and death metal, and my personal passion is in electronic dance music.
Getting into the radio/broadcast industry was an interesting story to say the least. I never interned, barely filled out an application, and basically played the role of filling in where there was the need at the time. It was the very rare scenario in this business of being in the right place at the right time. After many sleepless nights, lots of hard work, and over 5 and a half years later, I'm quite fortunate and lucky to have become the APD, host of the Night Show, and resident mixer on The Mix Factory.
Some passions of mine outside the radio industry are still very tied to the music business in the production realm. Some of this production is on the music production side, and can be found on XMIX Chartbusters compilations, as a featured artist on the world renowned www.crooklynclan.net, and I've produced official remixes ranging from Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" [IDJMG] to Sean Paul and Kelly Rowland's "How Deep Is Your Love" [Atlantic] as of the end of 2012. I've also worked with various record labels producing events including David Guetta’s “One Love” and the Swedish House Mafia’s “Until One” official album release parties. I also am a DJ, have spun up and down the East Coast from big room clubs, World-renowned festivals (including Ultra Music Festival), to local hot spots, I've also shared the same stage and opened for premiere talent such as MSTRKRFT, Bad Boy Bill, Diplo, Steve Angello, Dillon Francis, Robbie Rivera, LMFAO, Wolfgang Gartner, the Miami Heat’s DJ Irie, and more.
